I'm using Twitter Tools for WP 2.4(oAuth).
I following the instruction and reg my applicaion at twitter.
I'm very sure that I have correctly filling all the secret key/pass,token access/secret.
But when 'connect to twitter' , I still got warning as follows:
" Authentication Failed. Please check your credentials and make sure Twitter is up and running. "
Could anyone help me out ?

Shazron A Quadruple checked all settings, but still Authentication Failed. I managed to update my other blog on another server, and that went fine however.
Both using TT version 2.4

Suzan Hal yesterday I connected a site, no issues. Today not working
But I notice the http://dev.twitter.com/status is failing on statuses/home_timeline (OAuth 1.0a)
so this might be the problem???

Jörn Voß Tried it today an was able to connect to twitter. Changed nothing. That's probably related to twitter having disabled basic auth 12 hours ago.
Andrew Hawkins It still won't fly right for me. Even after reinstalling the plugin, cleaning out my WP database, deleting and recreating the Twitter app, and reseting the app keys. Since it's working for some people I surmise the problem is on Twitter's end as they work the kinks out of their new oAuth system.
Could it be varying by region? My hosting and I are in Japan.

No, I didn't actually have to do anything, which was weird...
Martin D I quitted using TwitterTools and started to use the Plugin "Twitter Digest" - I just use the function to post a collection of my daily posts in the night; and for this it is working just great.
Karen Blundell There is nothing wrong with Twitter Tools. I believe the problem was on Twitter's end.
Also, remember to assign read-write access to your app or it won't work. If you need to change access, don't try to update it...that doesn't work. Delete the app and start again. That's what I had to do!

Andrew Hawkins I've deleted the Twitter app and started a new one, double checked and triple checked the settings, still no dice. T_T
John Holt Still getting 'Authentication Failed'. Is it possible to add a debug option to see exactly why Twitter is denying the OAuth?
John Holt Found the problem! After I saw twitter troubleshooting tip:
'Ensure that your system's timestamp is in sync with Twitter's. We return the current time in a HTTP header with every request.'
I saw my server time was off by about 25min. After correcting that, the Twitter Auths went through. Maybe this will help others.

Marko Ko @John Sorry, I do not get it... how do I check if my system's time-stamp (PC time?) is in sync with Twitter's - especially I am have problem understanding "We return the current time in a HTTP header with every request". Can you please try to explain once again in "plain words".

Andrew Hawkins I use a virtual host that I control with cPanel, I wouldn't know how to determine what the server time is, let alone how to change it.
Would it make a difference what time zone that I'm in? I can't imagine that it would.
